Senator Romaine Quinn Joins DrydenWire Live: Talks State Budget, Healthcare, Energy, And More

SPOONER, WI — Wisconsin State Senator Romaine Quinn (R-25th District) joined DrydenWire founder Ben Dryden Thursday morning for the latest installment of DrydenWire Live, a 45-minute live-streamed discussion covering several major legislative and policy topics currently shaping Wisconsin.

During the April 24th broadcast, Senator Quinn and Ben Dryden discussed a wide range of issues, including a new version of a controversial transmission line bill, the Right of First Refusal (ROFR) or WERA bill, recently reintroduced by Republicans. Quinn shared insights on the changes made to the bill and the reasoning behind its reintroduction.

Senator Quinn also announced that state budget hearings will be held across Wisconsin, giving residents a chance to voice their concerns and priorities as the Legislature works on the upcoming budget.

The conversation touched on remarks made by Governor Tony Evers, who indicated he is open to negotiating tax deals with GOP leaders, but insisted any agreement must be included within the state budget.

Quinn also shared his thoughts on the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s recent decision to uphold Governor Evers’ 400-year school funding veto, a move that has generated significant attention across the state.

In health-related news, Senator Quinn highlighted the Senate’s approval to extend Medicaid coverage to 12 months for new mothers, a bipartisan effort aimed at improving maternal health outcomes in Wisconsin.

The Senator also received congratulations during the show for being named the 2025 Health Care Advocate of the Year by the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA), an honor recognizing his work and advocacy in the health care space.
