CHIPPEWA COUNTY – In a distressing incident on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at approximately 2:48p, the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a school bus crash on 205th St, just north of Co Hwy S, in the Township of Anson, Wisconsin.
The preliminary investigation conducted by the Sheriff's Office unveiled that the school bus, carrying 19 students and one driver, was traveling northbound on 205th St when it departed the roadway, entered the ditch, and ultimately overturned onto its side.
The crash resulted in minor injuries for three individuals on board, including the bus driver and two students. They were promptly transported to local hospitals for medical attention. The identities of the individuals involved are currently being withheld, as per Sheriff Hakes.
Multiple agencies collaborated in the emergency response efforts. The Cornell First Responders and Fire Department, Cadott First Responders, Anson Fire Department, Bloomer First Responders, and Chippewa Falls First Responders all played crucial roles in managing the incident.
