Press Release

In response to the ongoing concern over the potential spreading of COVID-19 (coronovirus), the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office is implementing the following precautions effective immediately:

The Sawyer County Jail will be suspending visiting and programs for an initial period of 30 days. One on one bible study will be allowed; however, they will be conducted in the Huber visiting booths rather than face to face. Any professional visits (attorneys, probation, etc.) will aslo be conducted in the Huber Visiting booths. These will be done by appointment only.

When calling Sawyer County Dispatch, there may be additional questions asked by the dispatcher, depending on the nature of the call. This is for the protection of all emergency service responders as well as the residents of Sawyer County.

Sawyer County Patol Deputies will continue to handle call for service and response to emergencies will continue as always. You may notice more information being gathered over the phone rather thatn in person by the patrol Deputy assigned. Again, this is for the safety of staff and citizens.

The Sawyer County Sheriff's Office is working closely with Public Health and Emergency Management, usin information from DHS and CDC, to stay as up to date as possible.

These precautions are being implemented in order to protect the health and wellbeing of the inmates, vistors, and staff of the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office. We strive to provide the highest quality service to citizens and visitors of Sawyer County and will continue to do so.
