Sarona Man Sentenced On Convictions Of Sexual Assault, Conspiracy To Commit Homicide

WASHBURN COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced a man on convictions of repeated sexual assault of a child and conspiracy to commit homicide in Washburn County.

DrydenWire reported in March 2021, that Wilson had been found guilty by a jury of charges of Class C Felony Repeated Sexual Assault of Same Child; Class G Felony 3rd Degree Sexual Assault; Class A Felony Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Intentional Homicide; and Class A Solicitation of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide that were filed against him in two separate Washburn County court cases.

The jury trial occurred after the Court of Appeals overturned Wilson’s original conviction for the charges of Class C Felony Repeated Sexual Assault of Same Child; Class G Felony 3rd Degree Sexual Assault.

Wilson remained in the custody of the Washburn County Jail following the jury’s guilty verdict and appeared for a sentencing hearing on June 11, 2021.

Online circuit court records show that the Court sentenced Wilson to serve 15 years of Initial Confinement on his conviction of Class C Felony Repeated Sexual Assault of Same Child followed by 10 years of Extended Supervision.

Consecutive to that sentence, the Court sentenced Wilson to serve 3 years of initial confinement on his conviction of Class G Felony 3rd Degree Sexual Assault followed by 3 years of extended supervision.

The Court also sentenced Wilson to serve two concurrent sentences of 7 years and 6 months of initial confinement and 5 years of extended supervision on his convictions of Class A Felony Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Class A Solicitation of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide. He will serve that time consecutively to his other sentences.

Online circuit court records also indicate that Wilson received credit for 2,020 days of time already served.

Wilson will be required to register for life as a sex offender and will be prohibited from having any contact with children under the age of 18. The Court also ordered Wilson to undergo any counseling deemed appropriate by the Department of Corrections.
