Rusk County Jury Acquits Man On Sexual Assault Charges

RUSK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A jury has Acquitted Mackenzie Anderson, age 35, of Ladysmith, WI, on criminal charges that alleged Anderson sexually assaulted a child for several years, starting when the child was under the age of 10.

In August 2022, the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office received information alleging that Anderson had sexually assaulted a child numerous times over the course of several years.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Anderson, the assaults began in 2015 when the child was under the age of 10 and continued until 2022. Some of the assaults allegedly occurred while another toddler-age child was in the same room.

Following one of the sexual assaults, Anderson provided “Plan B” pills to the child, telling the child that it would help her be a kid and not a parent.

The criminal complaint filed against Anderson contains many details describing the numerous assaults, however, DrydenWire has chosen not to include those details in this post due to their graphic nature.

Anderson was charged with Class B Felony Repeated Sexual Assault of a Child, and 2 counts of Class C Felony Sexual Assault of a Child Under 16 Years of Age. If convicted of all charges as filed, Anderson faces a possible maximum sentence of confinement in prison for 140 years.

Online circuit court records show that Anderson appeared for a bail bond hearing by video while in custody at the Rusk County Jail on January 10, 2023.

The Hon. Annette Barna had ordered a $5,000 signature bond with conditions prohibiting Anderson from having unsupervised contact with females under the age of 18.

Online court records show that Anderson appeared for a jury trial on October 4, 2024, regarding the charges against him. The Jury found Anderson Not Guilty of all charges.
