KINNICKINNIC, WI — A 21-year-old man from River Falls died Thursday night following a single-vehicle crash in Kinnickinnic Township, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 10:24p on May 1, 2025, the St. Croix County Emergency Communication Center received a report of a crash with injuries on County Highway SS near State Highway 65. Deputies responding to the scene discovered a 2003 Ford Excursion had left the roadway and rolled into the north ditch.
The driver, identified as Landon J. Lemere, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. He was the sole occupant of the SUV.
Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Lemere was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner. Authorities confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The River Falls Police Department, River Falls Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the St. Croix County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
This marks the third traffic fatality in St. Croix County so far in 2025. The crash remains under investigation.
