MADISON, WI -- Representative Chanz Green (R-Grand View) issued the following statement after voting in favor of a package protecting judges’ privacy and safety across Wisconsin:
“These three bills are important to maintain impartiality in the judicial system. It seems today, more than ever, that judges are being threatened and intimidated based on the decisions they make in court. That is something I can’t stand for, which is why these bills got my vote. I was made aware that these bills were endorsed by all my county judges up in my district, and I am glad my vote today got these bills closer to being signed into law.”
Assembly Bills 965, 966, and 967 passed with bipartisan support and now head to the State Senate for consideration.
Rep. Green also voted in favor of a package to combat human trafficking in Wisconsin. These bills were recommended after a report was presented by the Assembly Speaker's Task Force on Human Trafficking in early January. The bills now head to the State Senate for consideration.
