Rep. Green Votes To Strengthen Election Integrity

MADISON, WI -- Representative Chanz Green (R-Grand View) joined his fellow colleagues in voting in favor of strengthening future elections in Wisconsin.

“Elections should be transparent, and every citizen in Wisconsin should have confidence in elections, whether Republican, Democrat, or Independent,” said Rep. Green. “The package that the Assembly passed today is a step in the right direction to ensuring that confidence.”

Included in the election package were bills that would require early processing of absentee ballots to eliminate late-night ballot dumps, requiring all indefinitely confined voters to provide identification, prohibiting ballot curing by election officials, implementing text message notification when an absentee ballot is requested and returned, implementing additional checks to prevent non-citizens from voting, and protecting the integrity of ballots cast by seniors and those in assisted living facilities.

Rep. Green also voted in favor of three constitutional amendments that will appear on the ballot for Wisconsin voters to decide.

“With these reforms and constitutional amendments, elections in Wisconsin will be transparent and fair and would make Wisconsin one of the strongest states on election integrity,” said Rep. Green.
