Rep. Green Votes To Cut Taxes… Again

Representative Chanz Green (R-Grand View) issued the following statement after voting in favor of four bills that would help with the tax burden in Wisconsin:

“Hopefully, the third time is the charm! All four of these bills would be huge wins for my district and the state of Wisconsin. Governor Evers stated in his State of the State Address last year that ‘we have a duty to create prosperity that will define our state for generations.’ These four bills do just that, and I hope that the governor will consider signing these bills into law.”

These four bills would cut taxes for the middle class by broadening the 2nd income tax bracket, increasing the tax credit for married couples, increasing the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit, and creating a tax-free retirement for retirees for anyone over 65 years old by excluding taxation on up to $75,000 of retirement income for single filers and up to $150,000 of retirement earnings for married-joint filers. As an entire package, the bills would provide $2.1 billion in tax relief for Wisconsinites.
