POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - In a press release issued on January 23, 2024, the Polk County Sheriff's Office reported a concerning incident involving a suspicious death in rural Osceola, situated in the town of Farmington in Southwest Polk County.
On the evening of Monday, January 22, 2024, at approximately 9:30 pm, the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to a check welfare call concerning an individual in the specified location. Upon arrival, deputies made entry into the residence, where they discovered the lifeless body of the victim.
In response to the gravity of the situation, law enforcement took swift action by securing the residence. The Wisconsin Department of Justice, Mobile Crime Lab, was promptly engaged to provide expertise and support in processing the scene.
A person of interest has been taken into custody in connection with this case. The authorities have reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community at this time.
