Park Center Receives $10,000 Boost From 100 Who Care Sawyer County Chapter

SAWYER COUNTY - The Park Center received $10,000 from the newly created 100 Who Care Sawyer County Chapter under the arts/literacy and museum category. The other top-nominated organizations were the Sherman and Ruth Weiss Library and The Sawyer County Historical Society.

The 100 Who Care is a giving circle hosted and created by NorthLakes Community Clinic. The premise is that 100 members are willing to donate $100 three times in twelve months. The members nominate nonprofits that serve Sawyer County under three specific categories. The top three member-selected organizations present at an event. The members listen and ask questions, then vote. The organization that receives the most votes is awarded the collective funds of $10,000.

“The Park Center is an all-volunteer organization," said Paul Mitchell, Park Center treasurer. "This sizable donation through 100 Who Care is going to make it possible for us to make upgrades and perhaps add a few innovative programs that wouldn't have been possible otherwise."
"We appreciate all the work of the nonprofits in Sawyer County. NorthLakes' vision is 'healthy, prosperous and engaged communities where everybody thrives .'This initiative gets to the core of our vision where our neighboring nonprofits receive significant funding to make an impact in their work." said Reba Rice, CEO of NorthLakes Community Clinic.
