Northwood Technical College Students Awarded Grants From The Philanthropic Educational Organization

Northwood Technical College is announcing grant awards from the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) for seven students for the spring 2024 semester. The total amount awarded to the seven students equals $17,900 to be used for expenses related to attending school.

The P.E.O is one of the many scholarships and grants available to Northwood Tech students through external partnerships that work with the College’s Foundation. The P.E.O. has been in existence for over 150 years with chapters located in the United States and Canada. As part of the P.E.O., the Program for Continuing Education (P.C.E.) grant is one of six projects educating women through scholarships, grants and loans, as well as stewardship of Cottey College.

Three chapters in Wisc. and S. Dak. sponsored the seven students for grants. These chapters include Chapter AD-BG, Superior, Wisc. (one recipient), Chapter BY, S. Dak. (one recipient), and Chapter EQ, Hudson, Wisc. (five recipients). P.C.E. grant funds can be used for tuition, childcare expenses, transportation to school, uniforms, textbooks, and technology expenses.

The work the local Hudson, Wisc. chapter did to help prepare me for the application process cannot be understated. I am very grateful for their support and the connections I’ve made with them through this process. I am incredibly fortunate to have this scholarship and I look forward to using the funds to help me continue my educational journey at Northwood Technical College.”
