New Series Offered: Parent Cafes

New Series Offered: Parent Cafes

Washburn County Head Start and Lakeland Family Resource Center have partnered together to bring “Parent Cafes” to the area.

Over the course of 3 evening sessions, parents will discuss 3 separate themes: Taking Care of Yourself, Being a Strong Parent and Building Strong Relationships with Your Children. Parents gather in small groups at individual tables to explore questions and have a discussion, which is facilitated by a Parent Host. Parent Cafes are unique in that every parent’s voice is heard. Parent Cafes are an avenue for parents to come together to talk, to listen, and to support others with stressors, worries and challenges that many have struggled with alone. The Parent Cafes support parents in building friendships and a strong network of families who help each other stay strong!

Parent Cafes are scheduled to be held the last Thursday of the month. The first session will be held Thursday, January 26th at Washburn County Head Start. Session will be 6:00PM – 8:00PM. Complimentary child care and refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling Lakeland Family Resource Center at 715-635-4669. Washburn County Head Start is located at 851 Northland Drive, Spooner. There is no fee for this program.

Parent Cafes are made possible by Supporting Families Together Association with funds from the Mary Alphonse Bradley Fund.
