POLK COUNTY — One person is dead and two others are seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Polk County, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. An update to the original press release has now identified the deceased as an 18-year-old from Minnesota.

On April 15, 2025, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office emergency call center received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 65 and County Highway F (85th Avenue).
According to authorities, an eastbound passenger car, occupied only by the driver, failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the path of a southbound pickup truck traveling on Highway 65. The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An update released on April 17, 2025, identified the deceased as Marley John Mickelsen, age 18, of Lino Lakes, Minnesota.
The pickup truck had two occupants, both of whom sustained serious injuries and were transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office extended thanks to Allied Fire (Dresser and Garfield Stations), Northwestern Municipal EMS, the Polk County Medical Examiner, the Polk County Highway Shop, and the Wisconsin State Patrol for their assistance with the crash response.
