Multi-Agency Raid Uncovers DMT Manufacturing Operation In Grantsburg Wisconsin

GRANTSBURG, WI -- Authorities in Grantsburg, Wisconsin uncovered a DMT drug lab in the former Red Stag Saloon on March 19, 2025, leading to the arrest of Laura Chamberlin, age 51, according to a press release from the Grantsburg Police Department. The raid, supported by multiple agencies, also uncovered firearms and drug paraphernalia.

On March 19, 2025, the Grantsburg Police Department was notified of a drug lab located in the former Red Stag Saloon building at 101 W. Madison Avenue in Grantsburg. The building had recently been the subject of an eviction of the occupant, Laura Chamberlin (51) of Grantsburg.

Grantsburg Police then requested assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation and the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency.

The police department was also aided by the Burnett County Sheriff's Office, Siren Police Department, Grantsburg Fire Department, Superior FD HAZMAT team, Village of Grantsburg Public Works Department, North Memorial Ambulance, and Burnett County Health and Human Services.

A search warrant was executed, and the lab was determined to be used for the manufacture of N,N-Dimethyltryptamine, commonly known as DMT - a powerful restricted controlled substance and hallucinogen.

Numerous firearms and drug paraphernalia were also located.

Law enforcement made contact with Laura Chamberlin, and she was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine.

Laura Chamberlin remains in the Burnett County Jail on charges of manufacture of controlled substances, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and numerous other charges.
