Jeff Bezos Defends Washington Post Non-Endorsement, Says Americans ‘Don’t Trust’ Media

Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos in an op-ed published Monday evening defended the newspaper’s recent controversial decision not to endorse Kamala Harris or Donald Trump in the presidential election.

Bezos, who founded Amazon, called that a “meaningful step in the right direction” to reverse the loss of trust in the media by Americans.

The Post has reportedly lost more than 200,000 digital subscribers because of the decision.

A huge Maya city has been discovered centuries after it disappeared under jungle canopy in Mexico.

Archaeologists found pyramids, sports fields, causeways connecting districts and amphitheatres in the southeastern state of Campeche.

They uncovered the hidden complex - which they have called Valeriana - using Lidar, a type of laser survey that maps structures buried under vegetation.

Wisconsin Pizzeria Apologizes For Unintentionally Contaminating Pizzas With THC

A pizzeria in Wisconsin is apologizing after unintentionally contaminating its pizzas with THC.

Famous Yeti’s Pizza in Stoughton, Wisconsin, said the potential contamination applies to pizzas sold between Oct. 22 at 4:30 p.m. through 12 p.m. on Oct. 24.

The business said THC-contaminated oil taken from a shared fridge was mistakenly used to make the pizzas.

Federal Judge Finds Wisconsin Man Guilty Of Sex Trafficking And Arson

United States Attorney Gregory J. Haanstad announced that on October 28, 2024, United States District Court Judge Lynn Adelman found Bobby McNeil (age 45) guilty of all five counts with which he was charged, which were Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud, or Coercion; Arson in Furtherance of a Federal Felony; Arson of a Building/Rental Property; Interstate Transportation for the Purpose of Prostitution; and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

The evidence presented at trial established that between 2021 and 2022, McNeil used force, threats of force, fraud, and coercion to compel an adult female victim to engage in commercial sex acts on the south side of Milwaukee.

Wisconsin Supreme Court To Begin Hearing Cases On Abortion Access, Elections Commission

In the two weeks after Wisconsin voters cast ballots in this November’s election, oral arguments will begin in lawsuits that affect two high-profile issues in the state.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court will hear arguments in a case about abortion access and in a case determining the status of the state’s highest election official.

Oral arguments in the Josh Kaul v. Joel Urmanski, which challenges a Civil War-era law previously interpreted to ban abortion in Wisconsin, will take place on Nov. 11.

One of the world’s leading sauerkraut producers is moving its headquarters to Wisconsin, with plans to expand operations and add 60 high-paying jobs.

Fermented Food Holdings, Inc. will invest $13 million in its Bear Creek production facility and relocate its corporate headquarters to Madison, with support from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), which has awarded the company $500,000 in performance-based tax credits.
