Wisconsin Supreme Court Hears Challenge To State's 2022 Ballot Drop Box Ban
Liberal justices who control the Wisconsin Supreme Court showed signs on May 13 of being willing to overturn a ruling that all but eliminated the use of absentee ballot drop boxes in the swing state.
At issue is whether the court should overturn its July 2022 ruling that said nothing in state law allowed for absentee drop boxes to be placed anywhere other than in election clerk offices. Conservative justices controlled the court then, but the court flipped to 4-3 liberal control in 2023, setting the stage to possibly overturn the ruling.

Wisconsin football is on the outside of nearly every post-spring way-too-early top 25 ranking ahead of the 2024 season. The program is coming off consecutive 7-6 campaigns and is beginning to lose the reputation for consistent winning its held for more than two decades.
There was a good reason behind that reputation. Wisconsin has not had a losing season since going 5-7 in 2001 and is on a 23-year bowl streak. But one of Wisconsin’s recent streaks is in jeopardy entering 2024: The program has been ranked in every preseason AP Poll since 2017.

Republicans said Monday that the state Senate would vote to override up to 36 of the governor’s vetoes, including a bill to fight PFAS pollution — moves that Democrats derided as desperate election year stunts.
