Appeals Court Partially Freezes Texas Judge’s Order That Would Have Suspended FDA Approval Of Medication Abortion Pill

A federal appeals court late Wednesday night froze parts of a Texas judge’s order that would have suspended the US Food and Drug Administration’s approval of a medication abortion drug.

But the court only partially granted the request by the Justice Department and the drug’s manufacturer to put US District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk’s ruling on hold, with the panel effectively making the drug harder to obtain.

Last Friday, Kacsmaryk issued a ruling that would have halted the FDA’s 23-year-old approval of the drug, mifepristone. Under the appeals court’s new order, the approval will stay in effect and the drug will remain on the market while an expedited appeal plays out.

Biden's Claim To Have No Knowledge Of Hunter's Business Dealings Is Becoming Harder To Maintain

President Joe Biden has repeatedly insisted he had no knowledge of son Hunter's business dealings, but records show he met with more than a dozen of Hunter’s business associates, and some of those associates and top staffers at Hunter’s now-defunct company visited the Obama White House more than 90 times when he was vice president in the Obama administration.

"I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings," Biden said to Fox News reporter Peter Doocy as he jabbed his finger in his face on the campaign trail in Iowa in 2019. "You should be looking at Trump. Trump’s doing this because he knows I’ll beat him like a drum. … Everybody’s looked at it and said there’s nothing there. Ask the right question."

"I don’t discuss business with my son," Biden said again a month later in October 2019.

Anheuser-Busch InBev Has Lost More Than $6 Billion In Market Cap In Just Six Days After Dylan Mulvaney Partnership Sparked Backlash

Bud Light's parent company has lost more than $6billion in market capitalization since announcing its partnership with a polarizing transgender internet personality.

Unveiled on April 2, the brand's alliance with 26-year-old Dylan Mulvaney has since incited outrage and calls for a boycott - and now appears to be hitting Anheuser-Busch where it matters most: in the wallet.

In the days leading up to the announcement, shares for the Belgium-based brewer had been trading around $66 - a high not seen since before the pandemic.

As the market closed Wednesday, the beer giant's stock was trading at roughly $63, a more than 5 percent decrease in Anheuser-Busch's total share value - a concept more commonly known as 'market capitalization.'

Currently at $125.73billion, the company's market capitalization six days ago stood at $132.38 billion, as brass continue to stand by their deal with Mulvaney - an outspoken activist who has more than 10million followers on social media.

How Tim Scott Thinks He Can Outmaneuver Trump, DeSantis And Pence

Tim Scott has made one thing clear while dipping his toe in the 2024 waters: He’ll be a candidate who knows how to say “II Corinthians.”

He can probably even quote the book from memory.

The South Carolina senator, who announced an exploratory committee on Wednesday, remains a mysterious factor in the Republican primary field. Donors float him as a potential alternative to Donald Trump, should Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis fumble. And Scott’s genteel personality and lack of past Trump entanglements could give him unique appeal to independents and a newer swath of GOP voters.

A foregone conclusion, though, is that evangelicals — with all their subsets and denominations — will be his top constituency.

Top Wisconsin Supreme Court Operatives’ Advice: Abortion Matters — With A Wrinkle

Democrats across the country are once again bullish that abortion politics will propel them to electoral nirvana following the party’s blowout victory in the Wisconsin’s Supreme Court election.

But the operatives behind that successful campaign are warning that the calculus isn’t quite so simple.

Four top aides to Justice-elect Janet Protasiewicz’s campaign — campaign manager Alejandro Verdin, general consultant Patrick Guarasci, media consultant Ben Nuckels and top spokesperson Sam Roecker — said that running on abortion doesn’t work without tying it to a larger message. They argued that the candidates’ own values matter when making abortion an issue. So too do the legislation or laws at stake.

How Ojibwe Tribes In Wisconsin Resisted Efforts To Deny Treaty Rights

Ojibwe tribes have fished in the Great Lakes for centuries, but throughout their histories, have faced numerous incursions and displacements — possibly including the circumstances that led to their migration to the region.

“We originated on the East Coast, near the Great Salt Water,” said Edith Leoso, retired tribal historic preservation officer with the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe. “There was this spirit entity that came to us and said that there was a light-skinned race that would come from where the sun rises and that upon their coming, our way of life would be jeopardized.”
