Tuesday brings the next big batch of primaries, as voters head to the polls in Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia — plus we get a little bonus electoral action thanks to several runoffs in Texas and a special election in Minnesota. The World's Car Buyers Are Ready To Go Electric

Consumer interest in electric vehicles has hit a global tipping point, with more than half of car buyers saying they want their next car to be an EV, new research from Ernst & Young shows.

The world is in the midst of a global transition away from gasoline-powered vehicles, driven by environmental concerns and, in some countries, avoidance of stiff penalties on vehicles with internal combustion engines.

52% of respondents to EY's annual Mobility Consumer Index who are looking to buy a car want an EV, according to the survey of 13,000 people in 18 countries.

President Joe Biden has said he would use force to defend Taiwan if it was attacked by China, appearing to signal a shift away from Washington’s decades-long policy of so-called strategic ambiguity towards the East Asian democracy.

Biden made the remarks on Monday while visiting Japan, where he is on the second leg of his first trip to East Asia since taking office last year.

The world is facing "formidable" challenges, including Covid, the war in Ukraine and monkeypox, the head of the World Health Organization has warned.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was speaking in Geneva, where the UN health agency's experts were discussing the monkeypox outbreak in 15 nations outside Africa.

Republicans Don't Endorse Any Candidate In GOP Primary For Governor

Republican activists decided not to endorse any of the GOP candidates for governor Saturday, a vote that will keep the state party officially neutral until after Wisconsin's Aug. 9 primary.

It was a setback for former Republican Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, the GOP frontrunner in the race for governor and the leading vote-getter among all the candidates in Saturday's balloting. Kleefisch received 54.6 percent of the votes from Republican delegates Saturday, falling shy of the 60 percent threshold needed to win the party's nod.

Officer Involved Critical Incident Investigation In Racine, Wis.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is investigating an officer-involved critical incident (OICI) in the City of Racine, Wis. that occurred on the afternoon of Friday, May 20, 2022.

At approximately 1:01 p.m., a Racine Police Department Officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was the subject of a search warrant for a felon in possession of a firearm. After a brief pursuit, the subject fled on foot. Following a foot chase, the subject was seen with a handgun at which time the officer discharged their firearm, striking the subject. The subject was taken to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

A Bear Charged Through A Wisconsin House Window. A Couple Stabbed It With A Kitchen Knife And Shot It As Their Kids Slept

A Wisconsin couple say they killed a bear that attacked them inside their home after they spotted it eating from their bird feeder.

The Taylor County Sheriff's Office said the attack happened around 11 p.m. Friday at a home near Medford in north-central Wisconsin. The couple told authorities that a black bear charged through a window after they yelled at it to go away, the office said.
