The Senate is poised to vote this week on whether to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, and she is in good shape to win a lifetime appointment and become the first Black woman on the court.

The Judiciary Committee is set to meet Monday and vote on whether to advance Jackson, 51, a judge on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for Washington, D.C.

At least 18 people were injured, six fatally, when a mass shooting erupted early Sunday in downtown Sacramento, California, and police said no suspects were in custody.

The Sacramento Police Department said several streets in downtown Sacramento just blocks from the state Capitol building and the Golden 1 Center where the Kings NBA team plays were closed as officers responded to the gun violence.

The body of a missing Wisconsin woman was found near an Iron County, Wis. waterfall Sunday morning.

According to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, March 30, the Middleton Police Department contacted the Iron County Sheriff’s Office about a missing woman, Kelsey A. Musgrove, MD, of Middleton, Wisconsin. Musgrove went on a hiking trip to Potato River Falls in Gurney, Wisconsin and hadn’t returned.

The cost of eggs has been rising since 2020 and now the highly contagious bird flu has forced tens of millions of egg-producing chickens to be put down across the country including here in Wisconsin.

The U.S. farm credit system says egg prices that were at about $1.50 a dozen at the start of 2022 have now jumped to above $2.25 a dozen on average.
