Jeff, Gina, and Ryan Dietrich believe in inspiring people to do the things that inspire them to make the world better. So, they are forming a Junior Girls Volleyball program called Northwest Wisconsin Volleyball Club, or NWVBC for short. The purpose is to offer student-athletes the opportunity to participate in a motivating high-level activity that builds character through positive affirmation of good moral values. Junior Girls' Volleyball teams from 12 and under through 18 and under will compete locally and regionally in sanctioned USA Volleyball events from Wisconsin Dells, to the Twin Cities, to Duluth, MN and points in between.
The Club is hoping to have a total of four teams this year consisting of nine girls each in the age groups of 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under, and 18 and under. USA Volleyball has age definitions that can be found here.
NWVBC has a final tryout this Sunday, November 19th at Northwood High School in Minong, WI. There are two sessions, one from 12-2 PM for girls that qualify as 12U-14U, and then from 2-4 PM for girls that qualify as 15U-18U. Interested players and families should contact the Club with any questions via email.
Registration for the tryout is found on their website where there is an informational presentation about the Club and how it works. If you or anyone that you know loves to pay the sport of volleyball and wants to improve their personal skills and learn advanced techniques that will further their volleyball careers scholastically in high school and college, they are encouraged to get to the tryout this Sunday.
A number of partners have already made financial commitments to help defray the membership costs for players and their families. For example, Hayward & Spooner Physical Therapy & Rehab Specialists have partnered with the Club to offer a comprehensive injury prevention and Wellness program for players that will help them while transitioning from one activity to another and providing consultation when needed. Some other great partners are O C Outfitters of Hayward, WI who are providing services for the Club’s logo gear four fundraising efforts; SportPlaques.com of Hayward, WI, who is making an in kind contribution for team plaques; the Spooner Health System will assist with coaching education, accreditation, and safety training; Main Street Taco of Hayward, WI who is a sponsor; Luxury Bubbles of Hayward, WI, a mobile car wash that is providing fundraising opportunity; Peoples Bank Midwest of Hayward, WI; and finally Family First Construction of Somerset, WI who is an “Ace” partner, providing a monetary commitment to support youth mentorship and development. If any person or business wishes to become a partner or sponsor by providing equipment, time, financial support, or other resources, please contact them via email.
The inspiring of others may be a familiar maxim to some, from the tutelage of Simon Sinek, and the “Start With Why” idea of building a better future. Sinek’s teachings have inspired them to form the Volleyball Club as a spearhead of a greater program, a Wellness and Performance Academy that exists to bring like-minded people together for sport and activities while positively influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation for everyday living.
The precepts of the Northwest Wisconsin Wellness and Performance Academy shape a mentorship and leadership program for youths and adults centered around empathy, the building of good moral character, and reinforcement of positive beliefs and values. They believe that the promotion of any activity, adequate sleep, good nutrition, and spiritual fitness are fundamentals that help make people healthier, happier, and more productive, helping them become positive role models for others.
