Mauston Resident Arrested In Washburn County For Seventh OWI Offense

WASHBURN COUNTY -- Dana Jeffrey Wobschall, a 68-year-old resident of Mauston, Wisconsin, was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post on May 31, 2024, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence (OWI), marking his seventh offense.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:57p on US Highway 53 northbound at Shell Creek Road. A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper initiated the traffic stop after observing Wobschall make an improper turn. During the stop, the trooper conducted standardized field sobriety tests, leading to Wobschall's arrest for OWI.

This is Wobschall's seventh offense for operating a vehicle under the influence, a serious charge with significant legal repercussions.

The Wisconsin State Patrol reminds the public of the legal presumption of innocence for any defendant.
