*UPDATE*
SAWYER COUNTY -- Additional information has been obtained by DrydenWire regarding the sentencing of Clinton Price, Jr., of Hayward, WI, on his convictions stemming from a January 2020 drug bust in Sawyer County during which Law Enforcement seized 165 grams of a substance.
This additional information confirms that although the substance seized was initially thought to be heroin, subsequent testing did not indicate the presence of heroin or any controlled substance. Price Jr.’s charge of Class C Felony Possession With Intent to Deliver Heroin (>50 grams) was dismissed accordingly.
The investigation in this matter showed that Price, Jr. had used his residence to allow people to sell heroin out of it and that he had also been involved in the delivery of heroin to other individuals, according to the additional records obtained by DrydenWire.
The Court subsequently sentenced Price, Jr. on his convictions for Class F Felony Manufacture/Deliver Heroin (>3 grams), Class I Felony Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place as noted in DrydenWire’s previous post included below.

SAWYER COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced Clinton Price, Jr., of Hayward, WI, on his convictions stemming from a January 2020 drug bust in Sawyer County during which Law Enforcement seized 165 grams of heroin.
DrydenWire published a press release from the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department on January 10, 2020, stating that a 4-month long investigation had culminated with the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Water Tower Lane. Three men were arrested: Clinton Price, Jr., age 30, of Hayward, WI; Vincent Williams, age 17, of Farmington, MN; and Michael LaBlanc, age 17, of Minneapolis, MN.
The search warrant resulted in the seizure of 164.5 grams of Heroin with an approximate street value of over $50,000; marijuana; over $2000 in cash; and multiple items of drug trafficking and drug paraphernalia including three scales.
On January 24, 2020, DrydenWire reported that criminal charges had been filed against the three men who were arrested.
Clinton Price, Jr. was charged with Class C Felony Possession With Intent to Deliver Heroin (>50 grams), Class F Felony Manufacture/Deliver Heroin (>3 grams), Class I Felony Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place.
Online circuit court records show that at a recent court hearing the Court ordered a withheld sentence for Price, Jr. on convictions for Class F Felony Manufacture/Deliver Heroin (>3 grams), Class I Felony Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place. The remaining charge filed against Price, Jr. was dismissed but read in. Price, Jr. is to serve 5 years probation on his conviction for Class F Felony Manufacture/Deliver Heroin (>3 grams), and 3 years of probation for his conviction of Class I Felony Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place.
The Court also sentenced Price, Jr. on a charge of Class I Felony Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer that was filed against him in a separate Sawyer County Circuit Court case stemming from a July 2020 incident. Details of that incident are not known to DrydenWire, however, the Court ordered Price to serve 1 year in county jail.
Price, Jr. is to serve his probation consecutive to his jail sentence, and conditions of probation will require him to pay fines and court costs of over $1000.00, and complete any counseling and programming deemed appropriate by his probation agent.
Williams was charged with Class C Felony Possession With Intent to Deliver Heroin (>50 grams).
LaBlanc was also charged with Class C Felony Possession With Intent to Deliver Heroin (>50 grams).
Online circuit court records show that the charges against both Williams and LaBlanc were dismissed by the Court in April 2020 upon the motion of the District Attorney.
