WASHBURN COUNTY (DrydenWire) – A call for assistance from law enforcement regarding alleged shoplifting in Spooner, WI, quickly escalated into a tense encounter on February 14, 2025.
Officers responded to reports of a man stealing frozen food items and soon located the suspect, Levi Jacobson, age 28, walking along a nearby trail. What began as a minor theft investigation took a more serious turn when officers discovered an outstanding warrant for Jacobson’s arrest.
As he was taken into custody, Jacobson became increasingly combative, allegedly threatening an officer’s life multiple times.
