Jail Time Ordered For 5th OWI Conviction

BURNETT COUNTY — Brian Doriott, of Webster, WI, has been sentenced for a conviction of OWI 5th Offense in Burnett County Circuit Court.

DrydenWire.com reported in September 2018 that Doriott was facing new OWI charges after being sentenced in May of 2018 on another OWI conviction in Burnett County Circuit Court.

On September 7, 2018, a Police Officer for the Village of Webster stopped Doriott’s vehicle after observing the vehicle weaving across the center line. After Doriott exited the vehicle, the Officer attempted to conduct field sobriety testing, however Doriott was not able to successfully complete the tests. A preliminary test of Doriott’s breath alcohol concentration gave a result of .141 according to a criminal complaint filed against Doriott.

At a recent hearing Doriott was sentenced regarding his conviction for OWI 5th Offense. When Doriott entered his plea of guilty to the OWI charge in July 2019, his remaining charges of Operating With Prohibited Alcohol Concentration 5th Offense, Misdemeanor Fail to Install Ignition Interlock Device, and Misdemeanor Operate While Revoked were dismissed but read in.

The Court ordered a withheld sentence: 9 months of conditional jail time with 2 years of probation. Online circuit court records indicate that Doriott will not be eligible for electronic monitoring during his term of confinement. Conditions of his probation will require Doriott to undergo an Alcohol and Other Drug Assessment and complete a Driver Safety Plan.
