Intro To ICAA Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership And Head Start Programs

You may have heard of ICAA’s Head Start and Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) before. Both programs focus on education, health, and safety for children age 0-5 and their families. ICAA has 19 Head Start and EHS-CCP centers/partners in Burnett, Clark, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, and Washburn counties.

ICAA’s EHS-CCP program serves children ages 0-3 through a collaboration between ICAA and local licensed childcare providers. The goal of providing EHS-CCP services is to support high-quality childcare providers, support child development in infants and toddlers, and prepare children for their transition to Head Start and/or preschool.

ICAA’s Head Start program serves children ages 3-5. Head Start helps children with school readiness and encourages parents to be active in their children’s learning. The program also helps parents with their own education, literacy, and employment goals.

During the last year, like everyone else, ICAA has faced unique challenges due to COVID-19. However, that has not deterred us from continuing to provide high-quality education and health services through our EHS-CCP partners and Head Start centers.

Over the next several weeks, keep an eye out for more articles from ICAA’s Head Start program that address challenges you might face in your own life such as: coping with stress, healthy family activities, mental health, nutrition, and more!
