WASHBURN COUNTY (DrydenWire) – A Hayward man has been sentenced in Washburn County Circuit Court after authorities found methamphetamine hidden on him during a warrant arrest last fall.

On November 21, 2024, Michael Nathan Zopp, 45, was taken into custody by Washburn County authorities at the county line after the Lac Courte Oreilles Police Department located him on an active Washburn County warrant.

Following his arrest, jail staff discovered multiple items concealed on Zopp, including meth, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

At a hearing on July 29, 2025, Washburn County Circuit Court Judge Winton sentenced Zopp on convictions from his case.
