Get A Career In The Administrative Field

Office superheroes. Multitasking gurus. Chaos coordinators. Whatever the title, Administrative Coordinators are the glue that hold every business together.

There’s no denying that COVID-19 has changed the face of the workforce for good. Moving forward, remote employees will be more prevalent in the workforce, and WITC’s Administrative Coordinator graduates will be on the forefront of these changes. WITC’s cutting-edge Administrative Coordinator program, previously Administrative Professional, will prepare graduates for success in a modern business environment.

The Administrative Coordinator program is the foundation for a wide array of careers. With a fresh curriculum, the revamped program incorporates critical skills such as virtual assisting, event planning, troubleshooting and being the go-to for technology needs. Graduates will be prepared to support managers, executives and teams in a variety of industries.

“We make changes based on the advice of our advisory committees, which is composed of local professionals in the industry,” explained Brenda Kretzschmar, WITC Administrative Coordinator instructor. “We are able to tailor the program so students are prepared for the modern workforce.”

To accommodate the evolving workforce, students will get experience using the industry’s latest technology and software.

“This career is constantly changing and updating due to the needs of employers and advancing technology,” said Amy Pozniak, Administrative Coordinator instructor. “It’s no longer your traditional secretary or receptionist roles. Our graduates are going to wear many hats because they provide support and information for many departments and staff.”

While the program focuses on technology, it also provides the essential skills that are required of Administrative Coordinators, such as customer service, organization, project management, scheduling and advanced software. These skills will open doors to new career fields or provide the skills to advance in a current position. Typical positions for graduates of this degree include executive assistant, administrative coordinator, office manager or virtual assistant.

“There are many opportunities and transfer options to complete a four-year degree as well,” said Brenda. “This is just a wonderful program to be in. The instructors are available and here for our student’s, and we are so excited to have people coming into our program.”

To accommodate the busy lives of students, the Administrative Coordinator program utilizes a combination of online, in person or a mix of both. Many of WITC’s students are juggling work along with school and family responsibilities, so the College provides options for students to tailor their schedule to meet their needs.

“I love the flexible options for program delivery, and the instructors have been fantastic,” said Janet Marsh, student. “I have found the instructors to be very knowledgeable, helpful and offer the flexibility I need to manage home, business demands and school.”

Another student in the program, Kristin Kroll, says that the instructors really go above and beyond to help make her experience that much more significant.

“I have had nothing short of amazing professors. They are the solid foundation of this program,” said Kristin. “After deciding to go back to school many years after graduating high school, WITC was everything I needed.”

From applying to admission and registration, WITC is available every step of the way. The first step to get admitted is to fill out an application. To learn more about the Administrative Coordinator program, or to apply, visit www.witc.edu/programs.
