Four-Day Jury Trial Set For Man Charged With Child Sexual Assault

WASHBURN COUNTY  --  A four-day jury trial has been scheduled in a Washburn County court case that charges a man with sexually assaulting a child in 2014.

DrydenWire most recently reported in June 2021,  that the court case filed against Adam Vice in Washburn County had been returned to Circuit Court for further proceedings after the Wisconsin Supreme Court reversed a Court of Appeals decision.

The criminal complaint filed against Vice alleges that he had sexual contact with a child, age 4 at the time of the alleged assault. Vice is charged with 1st Degree Child Sexual Assault – Sexual Contact With a Child Under Age 13, a Class B Felony.

In June 2021 the Wisconsin Supreme Court returned the case to Circuit Court after reversing a prior decision by the Court of Appeals which would have suppressed statements that Vice made to law enforcement officers while being interviewed.

Online circuit court records show that a four-day jury trial has now been scheduled for February 2022.

Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
