MADISON, WIS. Scott C. Blader, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that David Tjader, 44, Maple, Wisconsin, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge William Conley to 84 months in federal prison for receiving child p*rnography.
This term of imprisonment will be followed by 10 years of supervised release. Tjader pleaded guilty to this charge on March 20, 2018.
In 2014, the Federal Bureau of Investigation began investigating people in the United States who were paying people in the Philippines to transmit live sexual activity involving children.
Agents found approximately 2,000 Yahoo! Messages between Tjader and a woman in the Philippines. During these conversations, the defendant requested videos and images of children ranging from newborns to age 13, referenced torturing little girls, and talked about raping and killing girls.
While there was no proof these requested videos and images were created at Tjader’s request, Judge Conley found the nature of the requests troubling.
The charge against Tjader was the result of an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation Task Force, Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, Superior Police Department, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, West Allis Police Department, and Milwaukee Police Department.
The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Altman.
