SAWYER COUNTY — The Court has sentenced both the men charged in a burglary incident at the Ace Hardware store in Hayward, WI.
DrydenWire.com previously reported in February 2019 that two men, Lorenzo Shuman and Gabriel Lynk were facing charges following a burglary incident at the Ace Hardware store located in Hayward, WI.
Shuman and Lynk broke in through the glass front door of the store and stole several firearms from a glass case inside the store, according to a criminal complaint filed in Sawyer County Circuit Court. A third suspect, under the age of 18, allegedly was also involved, but not named in the criminal complaint.
Charges of Class E Felony Burglary-Arming Self With a Dangerous Weapon, 4 counts of Class H Felony Theft-Movable Property-Special Facts [Firearms] (Party to a Crime), Class I Felony Criminal Damage to Property (Over $2,500)(Party to a Crime), Class I Felony Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Class H Felony Intentionally Contribute to Delinquency were filed against Shuman and Lynk.
Shuman was also charged with Class H Felony Bail Jumping due to charges of Class H Felony Take and Drive Vehicle Without Consent, Misdemeanor Resisting or Obstructing, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, Misdemeanor Endanger Safety/Use/Dangerous Weapon, and Misdemeanor Carry Concealed Weapon that he was already facing in two additional criminal cases previously filed against him in Sawyer County Circuit Court.
Online circuit court records show that at a recent hearing Lynk was sentenced on his three convictions for Class H Felony Theft-Movable Property-Special Facts, Party to a Crime. The Court ordered Lynk to serve 3 years probation with 180 days of conditional jail time. The remaining charges filed against Lynk were dismissed but read in at a hearing in July 2019.

Conditions of probation require Lynk to obtain and maintain employment and also complete any counseling as deemed appropriate by his probation agent. Lynk will be eligible for Huber release during his jail term for purposes of employment, schooling or programming.
Shuman was sentenced on his criminal convictions for Class E Felony Burglary-Arm Self w/ Dangerous Weapon, Class H Felony Theft-Movable Property-Special Facts, Class H Felony Intent, Contribute/Delinquency (Felony), Class H Felony Take and Drive Vehicle w/o Consent, Misdemeanor Resisting/ Obstructing an Officer, and Misdemeanor Carry Concealed Weapon at a hearing in July 2019; the remainder of the charges filed against Shuman in his 3 court cases were dismissed but read in.
Lorenzo Shuman
The Court ordered Shuman to serve 12 months confinement in county jail followed by 8 years of probation. Conditions of his probation will require Shuman to complete any counseling deemed appropriate by his probation agent.
Shuman and Lynk were also ordered to pay restitution to Ace Hardware according to online circuit court records.
