Court Sentences Final Man In Barron County Home Invasions

BARRON COUNTY — Zachary Schwanke, the 4th man involved in a home invasions case in Barron County, has been sentenced to prison.

DrydenWire.com reported previously that 4 men had been arrested and charged in Barron County for home invasions. The four men (Zachary Schwanke, Tyler Rognholt, Jonah Blake, and Ricky Gjerseth) were charged after an investigation by law enforcement into reports of home invasions during which the suspects entered more than one residence, holding people at gunpoint, and taking items before fleeing.

According to online circuit court records, at a recent court hearing the 4th man involved, Zachary Schwanke, was sentenced to a prison term for his convictions stemming from the burglaries.

Schwanke was charged with 3 counts of Class C Felony Armed Robbery, and 3 counts of Class F Felony Burglary. In February 2019, Schwanke plead guilty to 2 amended counts of Class E Felony Burglary. The remaining charges against Schwanke were dismissed but read in.

The Court has ordered a 5 year sentence on each of Schwanke’s convictions; the sentences are to be served consecutively. Schwanke has been sentenced to serve a total of 4 years initial confinement to be followed by a total of 6 years of extended supervision.

Conditions of Schwanke’s supervision require him to complete any and all evaluations, counseling, treatment and follow-up recommended by his Probation Agent.

The 3 other men charged, Tyler Rognholt, Jonah Blake, and Ricky Gjerseth were also sentenced to serve prison terms:

Rognholt is to serve 8 years of initial confinement followed by 8 years of extended supervision.


Blake was ordered to serve 5 years of initial confinement followed by 6 years of extended supervision.


Gjerseth was also ordered to serve 5 years of initial confinement followed by 7 years of extended supervision.
