A Spooner, WI woman who plead guilty to meth charges has been ordered to serve 2 years on probation under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

Online circuit court records show that Kaydee Mortensen of Spooner, WI, appeared in Washburn County Circuit Court on October 23, 2017, and received her sentence from the Court regarding her methamphetamine-related conviction.

DrydenWire.com reported on September 26, 2017, that Mortensen had entered a plea of guilty to her charge of Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and her charges of Misdemeanor Bail Jump (reduced from Felony Bail Jump) and Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property.

Mortensen was ordered to serve 2 years of probation and wear a patch and electronic home monitor. The Court also ordered that Mortensen is not to consume any controlled substances or alcohol. She will also be subject to any conditions that the Department of Corrections deems appropriate.

Two additional cases are filed against Mortensen in Washburn County Circuit Court charging her with Misdemeanor Resisting or Obstructing and Officer and Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct. In Douglas County Circuit Court Mortensen has charges pending for Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Details of these cases are not known to DrydenWire.com at this time and it is not known if any resolution is pending for these criminal matters.

Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

A Spooner woman has plead guilty to charges of possession of methamphetamine stemming from a Spooner Police investigation which has resulted in criminal charges in Washburn County Circuit Court for multiple individuals.

Kaydee Mortensen, of Spooner, WI, was one of the several people located by law enforcement early this year during the execution of a search warrant on February 22, 2017, at a residence near Spooner, WI on Carlton Road. Several people received criminal charges, including Mortensen. DrydenWire.com previously reported regarding the criminal charges from this incident which were issued to Jeremy Englund, Eric Hamer, and Diana Hobbs (see below).

According to online circuit court records, charges of Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia were filed against Mortensen. The criminal complaint filed against Mortensen states that when officers spoke to her at the residence following her arrest, she reportedly admitted to having smoked methamphetamine as well as hash and that she had a methamphetamine pipe on her person.

The search warrant was executed at the residence on Carlton Road after a lengthy investigation by the Spooner Police Department resulting from multiple tips from confidential informants stating that methamphetamine, heroin and prescription pills were being sold out of that residence and that marijuana was being grown there.

When officers arrived at the residence, several people fled on foot. According to the criminal complaint, at least 5 individuals were apprehended outside the residence. When officers interviewed Mortensen, she allegedly told them that everyone at the residence was smoking methamphetamine and hash inside Jeremy Englund's bedroom. Mortensen also stated that she smokes methamphetamine in order to have friends and that she had only been smoking it for a few months.

During the search of the residence, officers located dozens of items of drug paraphernalia including hypodermic needles and pipes, as well as equipment which appeared to be for the purpose of creating drug paraphernalia and other equipment which was suspected to be for making hash oil. Officers also found marijuana, prescription pills, methamphetamine and heroin.

Online circuit court records show that on September 8, 2017, Mortensen appeared in Washburn County Circuit Court and plead guilty to Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine as well as pleading guilty to a charge of Misdemeanor Bail Jump (reduced from Felony Bail Jump) and a charge Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property filed against her in a separate case. Charges of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct were dismissed but read in for consideration in Mortensen's sentence.

Mortensen also is facing charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in a criminal case filed against her in Douglas County Circuit Court. The Court issued a warrant for her arrest on that case on July 31, 2017.

Mortensen is scheduled to be sentenced on her convictions in Washburn County Circuit Court in October 2017.
