SHELL LAKE, WI — Chief David Wilson of the Shell Lake Police Department has announced his retirement after serving as a dedicated Police Officer and Chief of Police for 27 years. In a heartfelt message to the citizens of Shell Lake, Chief Wilson expressed gratitude for the honor of serving the community and reflected on the accomplishments achieved during his tenure.
Citizens of Shell Lake
I am writing to you today to announce my retirement from the Shell Lake Police Department. Serving as a Police Officer and the Chief of Police over the last 27 years has been the honor of a lifetime.
I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished as both a department and as a city. My time as Chief will be the highlight of a long career in law enforcement.
However, life’s circumstances are always changing, and for me, it’s time to move on. Professionally, there are other opportunities I want to pursue, and personally, I want to spend more time with my wife, children and grandchild.
I’ll conclude with a thank you to everyone I’ve worked with and for in Shell Lake.
God bless you and your families.
— David Wilson
