CABLE, WISCONSIN — The Cable Natural History Museum is thrilled to announce the addition of two new staff members this winter. Elora Repman will be telling the Museum’s story and raising funds to support our mission as Marketing and Development Manager. Heaven Walker will be leading programs about Northwoods natural history as Educator/Naturalist.
“We are very excited to have added these skilled members to our team. They fill new positions designed to help us forge ahead into our next chapter of positive impact for this community and beyond,” said Rich Jaworski, Museum Director.
“I am thrilled to have joined the Cable Natural History Museum team as the Marketing and Development Manager, and I eagerly look forward to what lies ahead,” said Repman, who is from Birchwood, Wis. She earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic communications and arts administration from the University of Eau Claire. Growing up in an expansive outdoor classroom at a Boy Scout Camp, and working with the Boy Scouts and 4-H, make her a good fit for the mission of the Museum. Repman also enjoys horseback riding and a variety of artistic pursuits.
Heaven Walker grew up playing among the hills in Ottumwa, Ia. She focused on environmental studies and natural history at William Penn University, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. While in college, Walker spent summers interning in the conservation field. She was a seasonal naturalist in Iowa, in the coastal islands of South Carolina, and with Custer State Park in South Dakota. Walker enjoys hiking with her dog, kayaking, trail running, reading, and drawing. Said Walker, “Though I will always have a deep passion for the prairies of my home state, I am beyond excited to live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and get to share my passion for the outdoors with the people there.”
These additions to the Museum team will help us connect with a broader community of Northwoods residents and visitors, and expand our educational offerings.
Founded in 1967, the Cable Natural History Museum is a private non-profit accredited through the American Alliance of Museums (AAM). Now approaching 60 years of operations, the Museum fulfills its mission of connecting people to Northwoods nature through permanent and rotating exhibits, a collection of over 5,000 biological, geological, and artifactual specimens, and public educational programming.
