BURNETT COUNTY — The Court has granted a motion to dismiss a sexual assault case that was filed in 2022 against Troy Powell, 38, of Grantsburg, WI, following an investigation by Burnett County authorities.
Court records show the decision came after a determination that forcing the child victim to take the witness stand would not be in the child victim’s best interests and would violate the child victim’s rights, bringing a close to a case that faced multiple delays and was scheduled for a jury trial in May 2026.
