Burglary Suspect Apprehended Following Pursuit, Tracking In Burnett County

BURNETT COUNTY — 43-year-old Calvin Fish was apprehended following an 11-mile vehicle-pursuit and leading to fleeing on foot after a deputy checked a cabin that had previously been burglarized, according to a press release from the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office.

On April 29, 2020 at 1:08 p.m. while patrolling in Lincoln Township, a deputy checked a cabin that had previously been burglarized.

The deputy found the gate was not locked and proceeded onto the property where she observed a pickup. This was the same pickup that had been involved in the previous burglary at this cabin. The suspect got into the pickup and fled the scene.

The deputy pursued the suspect for eleven miles. The suspect got the pickup stuck in a swampy area well off the road and he fled on foot.

Multiple officers responded to the area and a perimeter was established. The officers along with the Burnett County K9, the Polk County K9 and Wisconsin State Patrol airplane searched for the suspect who was apprehended four hours later.

The suspect has been identified as Calvin Fish, 43 years old, from Fridley, MN.
