BURNETT COUNTY -- The body of a 72-year-old man from Webster, WI, was recovered after Dispatch received a report on Saturday, September 18, 2021, of a male who had fallen in the water on Lower Clam Lake, according to a press release from the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 18, 2021, at 6:21 p.m., Burnett County Dispatch received a call of a male who had fallen in the water from a pontoon and could not be located on Lower Clam Lake in Meenon Township. Burnett County Deputies and a Siren Police Officer responded.
A Burnett County Deputy and the Siren Officer used a resident’s pontoon to go onto the lake to search. Another Burnett County Deputy launched the drone to search.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Webster and Jackson Fire Departments, and North Ambulance were also notified and responded.
The Deputy operating the drone located the male in the water southeast of where he had fallen from the pontoon.
The male was brought to shore where he was tended to by North Ambulance.
The male, Michael McNamara, 72 years old, of Webster, WI was pronounced dead at the scene.
This case is being investigated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
