BARRON COUNTY — In a prompt and coordinated response, the Barron County Sheriff’s Department acted upon a tip received from the State School Tip Line Speak up Speak Out, concerning a potential threat at Prairie Farm School. The incident unfolded on March 25, 2024, at 1:40 p.m., during a time when school was not in session.
Upon receiving the tip, law enforcement officials immediately reached out to the school administration to alert them to the situation. Deputies swiftly initiated an investigation into the anonymous threat to ensure the safety and security of the school and its community.
After conducting thorough interviews and examining phone data, authorities were able to identify and interview the individual associated with the reported threat. Following the investigation, it was determined that the tip was not substantiated, and there was no actual threat to the school.
In response to the incident, Barron County Sheriff’s Department announced plans to maintain a heightened presence in the vicinity of Prairie Farm School throughout the week. This increased visibility aims to alleviate any concerns or fears stemming from the initial tip.
