Barron County Deputy Carroll & K9 Koda Announced as ’Detector Case of the Quarter’

(News Release) -- Congratulations to Deputy Carroll and K9 Koda from Barron County Sheriff's Department for Region 18 Patrol Case of the Quarter.

On November 4th, 2017 Deputy Carroll and K9 Koda responded to a disturbance in Reeve, WI. The suspect was attempting to physically fight with multiple people and then armed himself with a firearm. The suspect fled into his residence and would not comply with commands to exit. The suspect was standing next to a shotgun while inside of the residence. Multiple commands to exit were ignored by the suspect and a taser deployment was only partially effective. K9 Koda was used to apprehend the suspect as the suspect had fallen next to the shotgun. K9 Koda's apprehension caused the suspect to stop reaching for the firearm and to comply. The suspect was taken into custody and was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, going armed while intoxicated, felon in possession of a firearm and a parole violation.
