WASCOTT, WI (DrydenWire) -- Authorities from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, WI DNR, Gordon and Wascott VFD's, and Sawyer County are currently on scene in Wascott on the Minong Flowage searching for two men reported missing on the Flowage.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the two men went out in a canoe sometime Saturday evening, October 28, 2023, and were reported missing to the Sheriff's Office early Sunday morning at 12:46a after family members located their capsized canoe.
The search with drones and personnel on the water continued throughout the day on Sunday until dark and resumed this morning, Monday, October 30, 2023.
The Sheriff’s Office says that more information will be released when it becomes available.
