WASHBURN COUNTY - The Washburn County Sheriff’s Office has issued following press release today, June 27, 2023.

On June 24th, 2023 The Washburn County dispatch center received a call from Bikers Against Predators (BAP), a non-profit organization that conducts online undercover chats.
A representative from BAP advised that a male, later identified as Edward Lambert (age 56), had arrived at their location in Minong Township, Washburn County, to meet with their decoy, who was posing as 13-year-old female, for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity. This meeting was arranged after Mr. Lambert messaged the decoy online.

Law Enforcement responded to the meet location but were unable to locate Mr. Lambert at that time. It was later arranged for Mr. Lambert to turn himself in at the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 27th, 2023 as a result of the BAP investigation, as well as a unrelated investigation by WBSO, Mr. Lambert was taken into custody at the Washburn County Jail for Child Enticement, Exposing a Child to Harmful Material, Sexual Exploitation of a Child (2x), and Using a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime.
The Washburn County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Bikers Against Predators for their proactive approach to keeping children safe, as well as the Wisconsin State Patrol, Superior Police Department, and Minong Police Department for their assistance with this case.
