Americans For Prosperity To Host Series Of Immigration Education Events Into Wisconsin

America has lost control over its borders and its immigration system. Congress’s failure to strengthen our border and streamline lawful migration pathways created a system that undermines the rule of law and fails to meet the needs of American families, workers, and entrepreneurs. At Americans for Prosperity, we're focused on improving border security and immigration policies for a more effective and fair system. Illegal immigrants are flooding the southern border, and the Biden administration has refused to address the crisis.

Since 2020, over seven million people have illegally crossed the southern border. Another 1.7 million "got aways"- or people who managed to escape encounters with border agents for processing yet were captured by surveillance have also crossed the border. We are also facing a spike in the nation’s fentanyl crisis and local governments and communities have been stretched thin to provide resources to fight the rise in drugs, crime and other issues.

Immigration is now the 2nd largest concern for Wisconsinites heading into the November election, trailing only the economy.

Utilizing immigration policy experts on AFP staff and retired United States Border Chief Chris Clem, the events will give people a first-hand look at what is happening at the border with virtual reality headsets, giving a real-time look at the issue that Chief Clem says is the worst border crisis in the history of our country.

“In my 27 years as a border patrol agent, I’ve never seen the border this bad,” Clem said.

With Chief Clem and other speakers at these events, Americans for Prosperity aims to educate Wisconsinites about the issues from a unique perspective and provide actionable steps we can take. Because if we want to secure America, we need to secure the border.

To help communities understand what is happening at the border, Americans for Prosperity is launching a series of immigration education events around the state in July. Check out our events page to sign up for an event near you, and check back as more are added during the month.
