Say goodbye to your gas-powered car. That’s the message from the Biden administration, which recently rolled out a new emissions standard that will essentially mean two-thirds of all new vehicles sold in the U.S., must be electric by 2032. For many Americans that means your next new vehicle might just be an electric vehicle whether you want it or not.
"Biden's latest EV mandate is just another example of how out of touch this administration is with Wisconsinites,” said Americans for Prosperity-WI State Director Megan Novak. “We certainly don't need the federal government telling us what types of vehicles we can and cannot buy in this economy, where rising food and energy prices are already destroying our family budgets. We simply cannot afford this level of government overreach any longer.”
In response, AFP launched a new digital ad campaign calling out Senator Tammy Baldwin for her radio silence on Biden’s latest federal mandate. As a rubber stamp democrat who votes with Biden 95% of the time, Wisconsinites deserve to know if Tammy Baldwin supports this radical overreach that would ban gas-powered cars and force most Americans to drive electric vehicles. As Wisconsinites struggle with already crushing effects of inflation thanks to the Biden administration’s mandates on everything from food to energy, driving up costs to the point that we now need an additional $11,400 per year more to maintain the same lifestyle we had in 2020, we can’t afford the administration telling us what cars we can and can’t buy, and it’s time Senator Baldwin start standing up for hard-working Wisconsin residents.
"Senator Baldwin has been nothing but a rubber stamp to Biden's inflationary agenda, and now, her silence on this latest federal mandate that will crush Wisconsin families and businesses speaks volumes,” said Novak. “Wisconsinites deserve to know where Senator Baldwin stands: will she side with Wisconsin families who simply cannot afford or rely on electric vehicles, or will she continue to be an ally of Biden's radical agenda?”
