BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) -- On the evening of September 1, 2023, Burnett County Dispatch received a call regarding a shooting incident. The caller, later identified as Ashton Heier, stated that he had shot someone when the person came after him with a bat.
Multiple law enforcement officers responded on September 1, 2023, shortly after 8:30p, to the scene of the shooting incident in the Township of Siren and located a male on the ground. The male had sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest. Officers began providing life-saving measures but were unable to locate a pulse for the victim.
